Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

• 1. Jewish Studies (hereafter referred to as Journal) is published semi-annually by the Center for Judaic and Inter-religious Studies of Shandong University. The Journal covers areas in Jewish Classics, philosophy, historical studies, literatures and cultural issues, and related other religions and philosophies. The types of articles are:
  a. Articles: Original articles related to the above mentioned.
  b. Reviews: Review on books or articles that are related to Judaic and other religions or philosophy.
  c. Academic News: In-depth report on conferences that relate to Judaic and other religions or philosophy.
  
  
• 2. The Journal welcomes submission and requests that the work is original and has not been previously published elsewhere.
• 3. The articles can be written in Chinese or English. Research Article should include abstracts and keywords in both languages. The length of each type of the article is as follows:
  a. Research Article: 5000-10000 words including footnotes.
  b. Book Review: 2000 words.
  
• 4. Research Article should follow the following format:
  a. Chinese and English Title, Author’s occupation, position and contact information; please refer to Article Submission Cover Page;
  b. 500 words abstracts and maximum of 5 keywords;
  c. Footnotes according to the style stated in Footnote Format (please refrain from revealing author’s identity in the article; when citing author’s own work please refrain from using first person pronoun).
  
• 5. Please submit the article in electronic form through email. The electronic file should be either in Microsoft Word or PDF format.
• 6. Article submitted to this Journal will be reviewed first by the editorial committee and then by two scholars of relevant field. A decision will be made and the author notified in three months after receiving the article. Upon acceptance for publication, the author shall revise the article according to the format of this Journal. The editorial committee will then decide on the issue in which the article will be published.
• 7. The author is solely responsible for the content of the article, and any viewpoint expressed therein does not necessarily reflect that of the Journal. Upon publication, the Journal reserves the copyright of the article.
• 8. The author will receive two copies of the Journal in which the article is published as a token for his /her contribution.
